Privacy Policy

HelpMeBuild.AI (“we”, “us”) is operated by Getfocus LLC. This policy explains what information we collect when you use helpmebuild.ai, how we use it, and the choices you have. Our Terms of Service apply alongside it.

Information we collect

Account information: your email address and password (stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider), and, if you provide them, your name, company name, phone number, city, country, timezone, and company size.
Google sign-in: if you choose it, we receive your name and email address from Google. We don't receive your Google password and don't access your Google data beyond that.
Product Profile content: everything you enter in the intake survey about your idea, product, goals, timeline, and budget, plus the assessments, action plans, and budget estimates our team prepares for you.
Messages: what you write to the in-app assistant and any decisions you record.
Guest sessions: you can start a Product Profile before creating an account. We create a temporary guest session for this and ask you to create an account to finish.
Technical data: a sign-in session cookie that keeps you logged in, and standard server and security logs (such as IP address and browser type) used to run the site and prevent abuse. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use it

To provide the service: prepare your assessment, action plan, and budget estimate.
To contact you about your Product Profile, including by email when your proposal is ready, and to answer support requests.
To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and automated sign-ups, and enforce the free-tier limit.
To improve the service and our own processes.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use your information for advertising.

AI and human review

We use an AI model to help draft assessments, plans, and budget estimates, and to power the in-app assistant. Your Product Profile content is sent to our AI provider to produce that output. Under our AI provider's commercial terms, content sent through its API is not used to train its models. A member of our team reviews AI-drafted work before it is shown to you as an assessment, plan, or budget.

Who we share it with

Only our own staff who work on your Product Profile can see its contents, and only service providers that help us run the site process it on our behalf:

Supabase — database, sign-in, and file storage.
Vercel — hosting for this website.
Render — hosting for our application server.
Anthropic — AI model that drafts assessments, plans, and budgets for staff to review, and powers the in-app assistant.
SendGrid — sending account and notification emails.
Cloudflare — bot protection (Turnstile) on sign-up and sign-in.
Google — optional “Continue with Google” sign-in.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users or the service. If we are ever involved in a merger or sale, we will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Where it's stored and how we protect it

Your data is stored with our database provider in the United States. It is encrypted in transit, and access is limited by account-level permissions so each customer can see only their own information. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and limit staff access to what the work requires.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page, which deletes your profile and Product Profiles; copies in routine backups are removed on the backup provider's normal schedule. Temporary guest sessions that never become an account may be deleted after a period of inactivity. We may keep limited records where the law requires it or to resolve disputes.

Your choices

You can view and update your account details on the Account page, and delete your account there. To ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it, email support@helpmebuild.ai. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor valid requests.

Children

HelpMeBuild.AI is for businesses and adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the app.

How we think about your data, and how AI and humans share responsibility here.

You own your data

Your business information, code, accounts, domains, and knowledge are yours. Your knowledge is never used to build shared knowledge across other customers.

Privacy levels

When you tell us about your business, you can mark information at different privacy levels:

Standard: Normal handling, same as most business software.
Important: Treated with extra care in how it's stored and who can see it.
Very Important: Access restricted further; used only where strictly necessary.
Must remain private: The highest level we offer for sensitive business information.

AI + Human, not AI-only

AI helps us move faster, but a human is always responsible for judgment calls. Right now, every Product Profile submission is reviewed by a person — we don't show you an automated diagnosis and call it done.

For anything consequential — money, billing, sensitive data, deleting or moving things, permissions, security, and production changes — our rule is: stop, ask, get approval, then act. We never treat proposing an action as the same thing as authorization to do it.
